If a ring has gems, can it still be a band? Are bands always straight? Does "band" always refer to wedding rings?
What makes a band a band anyway?
These are examples of what we think bands can be. They are personal expressions of the wearer, to symbolize whatever he or she wants. But if we had to choose one defining quality of a band over other rings, it would be that a band tends to be consistent and balanced all the way around. No large limelight-grabbing focal point on top.
