Summer has us going a little beach crazy this year, and these Driftwood rings keep washing up on our benches! Here, a collection of six from bottom to top (or right): matte platinum (heavy version) with pink diamonds; shiny 18k yellow with white diamonds; shiny platinum with blue sapphires; matte 18k yellow with cognac diamonds; matte 18k rose with white and silver diamonds; and matte platinum with white diamonds.
Snow Leopard Drop Earrings
Dramatically long agates with fascinating bands and freckles of tan and black on a misty white background. Capped with 18k white gold.
Zephyr Pendant with Cushion-shaped Tanzanite
A custom platinum pendant, set with a vivid 7.09 ct tanzanite and two diamonds.
Grey Star Sapphire Ring
A custom reset for this client's grey star sapphire was an opportunity to change the setting from monochromatic white gold to 18k yellow, which provides a beautiful contrast.
Family Constellation Ring
A true celebration of family, this grandmother's ring includes the birthstones of two grandparents, daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren. Grandma (aquamarine) is in the center, naturally! The diamonds are just for sparkle.
Constellation Ring with Old Mine Cut Diamonds
Many older, inherited diamonds are cut differently from modern brilliants, often resulting in off-round diamonds with high crowns. These old miners from vintage cluster earrings have found a new home in a custom-made platinum engagement ring.
Desert Ring with Marquis Diamond
Our Desert Band provides a rustic, yet modern platform for this bezel-set marquis-shaped diamond, oriented horizontally, for a cool and clean engagement ring.
Arcs Pendant with Bisbee Chrysocolla
A real eye-catcher, this large natural chrysocolla cabochon hails from Bisbee, Arizona, with captivating whorls of lush green and blue that appear to be in motion. Custom 18k setting with dramatic arcs create a somewhat Asian feel.
Rutilated Quartz Pendant
Luminous strands of pure golden yellow light emanate from a center punctuated by midnight blue. We chose 18k green gold for this setting because of its slightly lighter and clearer color compared to our standard yellow gold, due to a higher ration of silver to copper in the alloy.
Dendritic Quartz Pendant
Some find it hard to believe this isn't a painting or fine ink drawing. It is, in fact, a completely natural stone from Brazil, a type of quartz with black fern-like extensions of the mineral manganese. With a piece like this, all that's needed is a slim bezel of yellow gold and a simple bail, and let the stone do all the talking! Approximately 2.25" x 1.5"
Two-tone Wheat Wedding Bands
Custom carved and handmade wedding bands in 18k white gold with yellow borders.
Magical Fairy Ring
Custom-made for a passionate collector of gems and lover of color, this ring practically vibrates with joy. A 12-sided, deep pink rubellite tourmaline is flanked by two juicy red spinels in an unusual harmony of hues.
GEO Studs with Mismatched Diamonds
Resetting client's heirloom stones into earrings when the two diamonds differ in size gives us a special challenge. Our answer: carefully design the irregular frames to balance the overall look. These two studs relate to each other as a pair, even though the diamonds came from two different rings!
Two-tone Haymarket Solitaire
Clean and simple, with a hand-tooled white gold band and yellow bezel to capture the brilliant round diamond.
Half-bezel Emerald-cut Diamond Solitaire
A custom reset of this client's octagonal diamond, aiming to keep the ring sleek and low-profile, and practical for an active lifestyle.
Two-Tanzanite Drop Earrings
Two variations on a single mineral, these earrings feature large pear-shaped pendants of natural, unheated tanzanite, which accounts for the striation of blue and greyish-green. The small accent tanzanites on top have undergone the typical heating process to change them from neutral color to blue. set in cool 950 palladium.
Nest Ring with Sapphires
A custom version of our Nest ring with a clutch of three Ceylon sapphires made a special anniversary gift for our client!
Refreshed Peridot Earrings
These earrings originally consisted of just the two peridot stones in each, but our client wanted us to make them longer and more interesting, and with a little bling. We created the mismatched, but complimentary, middle elements from hand-tooled 18k gold and bead-set diamonds!
Quintality Ring with Pink Spinel
Wide, bold, graceful... not for shrinking violets. This is our "Quintality" (yes, it's a made-up word) ring, set with a jubilant pink spinel and a sprinkling of diamonds. There is a movement afoot among gem professionals to name spinel as a birthstone for the month of August, accompanying peridot in that slot. We're happy to do our part to show spinel some love!
Windswept Ring with Diamond and Blue Sapphires
A classic twist on our Windswept ring, highlighting the client's 1.26 carat diamond and three flanking Ceylon sapphires.
Reeds Pendant with Large Diamond
Our clients asked us to remove a large family diamond from its solitaire ring setting and make it into a pendant that their 30-year-old daughter, who has more modest tastes, would feel comfortable wearing. A simple and graceful pendant design in white gold allows this large heirloom gem to be worn on many occasions without feeling ostentatious.
Flanking Twig Rings with Cognac Diamonds
For the woods-wanderers among us, these rustic twig rings were created as a pair to flank another ring, but are beautiful on their own. Rich 18 karat gold and subtly varying warm shades of natural cognac diamonds give off a slightly autumnal feeling.
Juicy Mandarin Garnet Ring
This cabochon garnet positively glows with the colors of a setting sun on a hazy summer evening. A scalloped bezel and simple matte finished shank provide all the embellishment needed.
Large Aquamarine Cabochon Ring
The color of this natural, untreated aquamarine cabochon may be calming and cool, but make no mistake... this is a power ring! A magnificent 15.5 carats and nearly 1" one inch long, the gem commands attention. A scalloped bezel and smooth shank hold it securely on the finger as you take on the world in 18 karat white gold.
Juicy Tourmaline Atlas Ring
Smooth lines, great color, two-tone gold... what more do you need in a new ring? Natural color blue-green tourmaline cabochon sits atop our Atlas shank. 18k yellow and white gold.
