Changes to our Repair and Cleaning Services

Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, we have made modifications to some of our services in order to reduce the risk of viral transmission. We appreciate that some may feel inconvenienced by these changes, but please know we are doing what’s in all of our best interests during this unprecedented time.

You must have an appointment to bring in jewelry to be cleaned, examined or repaired.

Due to more stringent cleaning procedures, we can no longer clean jewelry while you wait.  Items must be left overnight so that we can complete additional steps to disinfect, clean, examine, polish and resanitize your jewelry while protecting ourselves.

There is a $25 charge per item if it was purchased from us ($50 per item if not purchased from us).  This fee includes professional cleaning, polishing (if applicable) and assessment of condition.  It helps us defray the cost of purchasing additional supplies like gloves, ultrasonic fluid and jewelry-safe disinfectants.

Items to be cleaned or inspected must be brought to us in a clear plastic bag.  Please take these items off before coming to the shop.  If you cannot remove your ring, try spraying your finger with Windex and gently wiggling the ring while pulling it over your knuckle.  If it still does not come off, consider waiting until later in the day or when your hands are cold and try again.  If it still won’t come off, you may have to have it cut off (which we don’t do) and resized (which we do).

We will do a preliminary inspection of your piece through the bag, or after dipping it into a sanitizing solution, depending on the gemstones present.  You will be given a claim receipt for your item(s) and be asked to sign a form acknowledging that we cannot fully assess the item before it is cleaned, and releasing us of responsibility for any damage or defects that become apparent after cleaning.

Please understand that all of this will take more time than before.  We ask that you allow ample time for dropping off your jewelry so we can give it the attention it deserves!
