Once again, nature amazes us with her ability to create intricate pictures out of Earth’s minerals. In this case, ancient buried coral skeletons became infused with silica-containing water, then crystallized into agate over millennia. More recently, gem cutters then isolated these postage stamp-sized pieces to create miniature, wearable paintings.
